Busy times this week.
Dave returned from Canada Wednesday night after the first Nor-Am GS at Mont Garceau feeling pretty psyched about Ace Tarberry’s 3rd place finish. He also continues to learn more and more about how to set the boots up. We now are getting pretty dialed into what is a good basic set-up and how to adjust it for individual needs.
St. Lawrence University racer Scott Houser came by the shop today for a little boot “tune-up”. Scott and the rest of the Saints Alpine team have been training at Whiteface this week, but today was a rest day. Scott decided to take a trip across the lake to see us. He’s feeling pretty good about SLU’s team this year and we wish them well. (Long-time readers know I’m a UVM alum, but both my kids graduated from St. Lawrence, so I have to cheer them on as well.)
We had a good time with Scott, talking about cars, skiing, the Sugarloaf lift incident, the number of racers from his hometown of Marblehead, MA and more. Nice guy. Funny how the people who choose to ski on DODGE carbon fiber ski boots are also nice people!

Ace Tarberry and Charles Christianson are on their way to Europe to ski in Europa Cup and FIS races there. Kick some serious ass boys!
Warner starts #34 in tomorrow’s World Cup Giant Slalom at Adelboden, Switzerland. Go Warner!
Looking forward to a busy day tomorrow.
First up, at 8 :30, is a visit to Stowe to catch up with Master racer Carolyn Beckedorff. Carolyn is a perennial top finisher and put many guys to shame.
Then, Chris Steinke will be at the shop in the afternoon on his way to the FIS races at Sugarbush. Always good to see Chris and his dad Tom.
Sunday will likely be some molding of new cuffs. We finally got the cuff material we’ve been waiting on for a month. It’ll be good to get the cuffs made so we can finish up all the boots lined up in the shop.
Well, gotta run. Bonnie is giving me the look that says I’ve worked enough today.
