A very big congratulations to Chris Steinke for his victory at  the Sugarbush FIS Devo GS race today. First of all, Chris is a really nice guy. He and his dad Tom have visited the DODGE Ski Boots shop numerous times and we enjoy each visit.

Chris is a J-1 from Ottawa, CANADA who, early on, saw the value of the DODGE carbon fiber ski boot and has been putting them to the test since last Spring. We’re really delighted to have him on the DODGE Ski Boots team.

Yesterday, Chris blew away the field in the first run by a convincing 6/10ths but was unable to close the deal in the second run. Today, he showed everyone he was the real thing.  Chris did the old Muhammad Ali “rope-a-dope” trick by “only” finishing 7th in the first run, then slamming everyone in the second run, winning by 7/10ths! Way to go Chris!

At Sugarloaf, Dan Loman, (who has been battling pneumonia since early November) scored a nice 5th place finish in the first run at the Eastern Cup GS today, had a few struggles in the 2nd run, and wound up 9th overall. I had a chat with Dan this afternoon and think he’ll be ready to go tomorrow.  If you are a racer in the Sugarloaf area, talk to Dan about getting on the DODGE boot.

We’re making some new powerstraps in the shop that I’m pretty excited about. First on-snow tests are tomorrow at the Stowe Ski Bum race. Will let you know how it feels.

Got my new Volkl slalom skis today and can hardly wait to give them a go.  Been giving them many coats of “special” wax. Thanks Mike!

Ski fast and take lots of chances.
